  45. Radio Simulators

  48. To help you get started with Scan*Star quickly, several "pseudo radio"
  49. drivers that simulate the actions of a typical scanner and a typical HF
  50. communications receiver. These pseudo drivers support all applicable
  51. Scan*Star features, so you'll see everything right away without having
  52. to hassle with cables, serial ports, etc. Of course, all of the standard
  53. drivers are included in the demo package, so you can use a real radio if
  54. you want to.

  58. Todays high capacity scanners and communications receivers have given the
  59. radio monitor the difficult task of managing large amounts of information.
  60. In crowded metropolitan areas, this can be a nightmare!

  62. Scan*Star makes this job easy by combining a number of advanced software
  63. technologies to form a professional quality package that is easy to use
  64. and low in cost.

  66. Requirements

  69. Industry standard 100% compatible PC 386/486/586 with 4 MEG RAM, hard
  70. disk, VGA display and OS/2 v3.0 (Warp) or DOS 5.0 or later. Operation
  71. in full screen DOS under Windows is not supported. Serial ports and
  72. cables are required for each device connected. Some radios require a TTL
  73. to RS-232 converter, check your radio documentation for details.

  78. The Scan*Star Professional Edition is also available. This edition has
  79. many of the features of Scan*Star Commercial, but does not have mouse
  80. support, multiple receiver scanning modes, multiple scan windows or
  81. the graphical scan window. Demo copies of the Professional Edition are
  82. available on the Scan*Star BBS, Compuserve and Genie.

  122. Program License: Scan*Star is the intellectual property of the
  123. author and is protected by United States copyright law and international
  124. treaty provisions. When you purchase Scan*Star, you are buying a diskette
  125. and a license to use Scan*Star on ONE computer. Scan*Star  is NOT shar-
  126. ware or freeware, and you will be allowed to copy the Scan*Star  program
  127. for backup purposes only. You indicate your agreement to abide by the
  128. terms of the Scan*Star  program license agreement when you break the seal
  129. on the package.

  142. any reason. The full amount will be refunded less shipping charges and a
  143. 15% restocking fee.
